Wild Game & Wine Pairing Dinner Planned at Plates Neighborhood Kitchen

Join Plates Kitchen on Monday, April 24, 2017, for an exclusive five-course wild game dinner, featuring wine pairings and presentation by special guest Guy Davis of Davis Family Vineyards.

Raleigh Food & Wine Festival - Plates Neighborhood Kitchen

Mr. Davis will provide background and insight into his winery’s stunning offerings as Chef Chris Santucci presents a prix fixe menu of North Carolina-sourced game dishes, each paired with the perfect Davis Family wine.

The Menu

First

Quail Salad (Roasted quail, Raleigh City Farm greens, blood orange, pear, manchego, chestnut, brown butter sage vinaigrette)
Pairing: Chardonnay, ‘Estate’ 2015

Second

Duck Noodles (Roasted NC duck, udon noodles, baby bok choy, turnip, carrot, five spice duck broth)
Pairing: Pinot Noir, ‘Soul Patch’ 2014

Third

Rabbit Ragout (Braised NC rabbit, bacon, onion, cannellini beans, chervil, herbs, red wine)
Pairing: Zinfandel, ‘Old Vine’ 2014

Fourth

Rack of Wild Boar (Boar chops, Dijon marinade, spätzle, fried capers)
Pairing: Bordeaux-Style Blend, ‘Cab 5’ 2013

Fifth

Elderflower Creme Brulee (Elderflower custard made with duck eggs and foraged elderflowers, bruléed sugar)
Pairing: Late-Harvest Viognier, ‘Gratitude’ 2013

The event is $79 per person, tax and gratuity included, and is RSVP only. Cocktail hour at 5:30 pm, dinner at 6:30 p.m.
